Fall, could you please come forward and take this awful locust screeching heat away?
Last night, my roommate and I went to bed at 10:30. by 11:30 we were still up and drenched in sweat. That's when our electrical outlit that had our fridge microwave coffee maker and FAN on died. So we rushed out of bed to switch them to another outlet. In the mean time it got hot and sticky and just unbearable. We got the fan all set up again and we laid back down. 12:30 rolled around and we couldn't take it anymore. We got up and went and took freezing cold showers. With wet hair and went skin we got back to bed and it still took another hour to fall asleep! ew.
This weekend I will be jacking one of mom and dads fans.

What a Week!
Wow! things have gone by so quickly I'm afraid to blink I might miss it!
Well I had my first few days at my job in the derb...not so excited about it and I'm really hoping this front desk job in my hall goes well, I applied the other day.
It seems like I am always tired because every day I am doing SOMETHING!
I finally got my futon in my room!
The whole ordeal was insane...I went and got it by myself and they had to take it out of the box to fit it in my tiny bug. then I get it home, take all the pieces out and put them on the floor, only to find out I have two right pieces that make the futon fold down! UH WHAT?! So I go and get a bag from the front desk to put it in, and the bag is the size of two or three street trash cans...then we decide that is way too big and I leave on a quest to locate packing tape to get the box back together. Turns out it was just right across the street which was a huge relief. My roommate and I tape it back together and fit what we can in the box, which wasn't much. Then we tried to stuff it back into my car. It fit better because I knew the technique this time to cram the sucker in! Once we were all ready to go we went to walmart and took two shopping carts in with a big trash bag that was barely full, a box that looked beat up and a big old futon mattress. They returned it without question, and with the next one I asked the guy to make sure it had a right and a left piece. Thank god it did! However, he didn't tape the box back up, so it was loose in my car! When we finally got it back into the dorm, I had to put it all together. Two hours later I present you with my magnificent futon!

Today I am going over to my sorority house to talk abouot finances! ew.
But can't wait to see everyone again!
Love you all
Till next time.

WOW time is flying.
SO! It's been a few days since I've updated, and it feels like a week. So many things happen everyday!
I'll start with Saturday, the night after I stayed in my house for the first time. I woke up and 63 + girls got ready for our group photo that we had to take for our pledge class. That was hotter than crud! I'm sure we all looked like a hot mess. After that we all went into Aggieville and walked around and then ate at kite's, this really nice little bar and grill. After that we went to a store near walmart to get our window decals that say AXO :P. When we got home I took a nap! When I woke up my sister and brother in law were there to visit! It was so nice to see them. We went to my sorority house, and I gave them a little tour of the downstairs. John felt really weird being in one of those houses again so we split and drove to KKG and Johns old frat house. KKG hadn't changed at all, but I think John's had. Once we passed the houses we went to Gumby's Pizza! My first time as a K-stater eating a "Big Ass". Yum. After that we said goodbye and I went out with one of my friends and one of my sorority sisters.
Sunday was AMAZING!
We had our first serenade by all the frat boys! Some of them were just singing, some of them were dancing, some of them wore INSANE outfits, and some were just sweet.
I got to dance with one of the boys when they came to get the new pledges. He was tall and tan and SO HOT! haha. His name was James. It was hotter than a firecracker though! I got burnt, and my tan lines are ridiculous because I was wearing capris :P That was awesome though, totally the reward after the long long lonnnggg week of rush.
Then monday came around and I started my classes. Monday is my longest day but it felt pretty easy to handle. I had Freshman seminar, which is basically an easy A class where you go to events, then I had my 2-D design class, which is going to be fun but terrifying, and then I ended with my Art history class, and that one is an hour long lecture class that I almost fell asleep in on the first day!
It seems like I am way more tired than I was in Olathe. All of this is pretty exhausting right now, but I'm sure i will get into the hang out things.
Till next time friends
I love you
Have a great week

Alpha Chi Omega
Well, you are reading a post from one of the newest members of Alpha Chi Omega!
I am so excited!
Last night was awesome. We waited at the union for what felt like forever to find out what house we were in. then we all opened our cards at the same time and everyone went wild! It was so awesome!
We got pictures of our groups envelopes together and all the girls.
Then we separated and got into our chapter groups all chanting in the union courtyard :D It was the most fun ever. After that we walked around the corner and waited for a minute and then they told us to go run to our house girls and it was a sweat fest of love :P everyone was drenched from the heat.
Next we all walked back to our houses chanting and having so much fun.
we jammed out in the front lawn and waited for every freshmen to get checked in and to get their alpha chi shirts and bags :P.
then we did a team builder in the dinning room and then seperated to our bid day buddy groups. They were SO MUCH FUN! We left to get some sonic and rocked out in the car. Once we got back we watched a movie and went to sleep. The sleeping dorms were kind of strange because it was dead quiet. I'll have some getting used to next year.
the next morning we went and got group pictures in our shirts :P
ill post those soon
Here are some to enjoy for now :P

Final Day!
WOOHOO!
Today is the last day of recruitment so I'll fill everyone in on yesterday.
I did get all of my three back again and I went to hear about their philanthropies. KKG was up first and I had a great time talking to them again. I actually teared up because they asked about my best friends. No one had asked about them yet and I hadn't realized how much I missed Jessica! I felt like an idiot but I liked filling them in on her. Then after kappa I went to Sigma K and was not impressed again. I got the same girl and then another girl I talked to was bored and didn't talk and the other was a strange color of burnt orange...so I ruled them out. Next I went to Alfa Chi Omega and once again I got some amazing girls and had great conversations. Their philanthropy was really interesting too. A Chi O is my favorite. Then we went up to the union again and made our top three choice again. The night was quiet but relaxing. My recruitment guide stopped by and chatted with me for a little while and then I went to sleep, because I was so exhausted!
The next day comes and I get up super early and get a shower and curl my hair. I am lookin' super cute and I head out to walk to the union. When I got there I found out I got my top two favorites, KKG and A chi O. Oh lord and wouldn't you know it...on the way to KKG I trip and skin my knee and twist my ankle. Favorite boots how could you do that to me?! They got all scuffed up to :( sad day, but at least I got a ride to KKG! lol. So I get there and we go in and talk for a little while then they take us into a room and had a really special little ceremony. I cried like the big baby I am! I couldn't help it. For one Aunt Flow was in town then I could see all the seniors tearing up and then I thought of my big sister who I miss terribly who was in the same ceremony. I fear I will always be the over emotional girl!
Now I am back in the dorms waiting for lunch to come around and then I am off to A Chi O! Wish me luck and I will let you know tomorrow what house I ended up staying in tonight!
Love you all.

And HERE WE GO!
Hello!
Alright, so I wanted to start this blog for my family and friends to keep them updated on the purple. I am so excited to be here at K-state! I dreamed about coming here ever since my big sister moved down here nine years ago. The campus is beyond beautiful and I can't wait to go and take some shots around campus!
I think I am already getting used to the streets, because it is rather small, but I know I will love it here.
This is day four of formal recruitment and I am having so much fun here. I couldn't believe how nice all the girls are and how easy it is to get along with them here. Yes, I was one of those people who saw sorority life as kind of the stereotypical airheads, but meeting all these girls changed my mind completely. I know this is what I want to do because it's just like being on a dance team but without the competitive aspect. You get Big Sisters and a family and do things together and as cheesy as that is I totally love it.
So, day one was moving in and OMG there were a TON of ford girls moving in. I am actually in West hall, directly behind ford, the little midget building :P. First floor ROCKS I can't complain. I did bring way to much junk with me but I think once I get it all where I want it that it wont be so crowded.
Day two was my first official day of formal recruitment. I got up and got ready and we went to have a meeting before lunch. Lunch was in the Derb, which if I might say so myself IS DELICIOUS. Then we went and visited five different houses. It was so much better than I expected. It is really laid back and you just go in and have a great conversation with a few really nice girls. The rooms are BLARING loud and some times you had to lean in to hear the girls talking. Once we finished with that we had dinner and then a short meeting and went to sleep, we were all really exhausted from the heat and walking all over campus.
The next day was SO excited because I went to my legacy houses. I couldn't remember which houses my cousins from New York were in, but I bet it will be fun to hear after I have made my selection. My first legacy house was tri delt. WOW! The girls inside reminded me of Aunt Sandy right off :D. It's funny how you can see tell what kind of girls are living in the houses. The tri delts were very proper and dedicated to the academic part of sorority life. The house was beautiful too. My next legacy house was Kappa Kappa Gamma! I was actually a little nervous going into that one because I really wanted them to like me! Kristin sent me picture texts from when she was in that house and it got me really excited! I loved talking to the girls at KKG and they actually invited me back the next day! [getting a little ahead of myself]. That night we went to the student union and narrowed down our selections. You had to get rid of two houses, which wasn't hard for me considering one house had some girls from high school that I'm pretty sure I couldn't deal with. Other than that particular house I was kind of interested in all of them. I had a favorite that night and it was Alfa Xi Delta. They had a lot of art girls in the house and obviously I'm an art major so what a perfect match right?
Well the next day comes and we find out who invited us back to tour their houses. I was invited back to three houses, so few because of may grades in high school [shame on Katie] however I did get some because I was involved in SO MUCH. Kappa Kappa Gamma was one of mine, Alfa Chi Omega was the second and Sigma Kappa was my third. They were all on the top most part of my favorite list. First I visited KKG which was so awesome. I liked the inside and again I got some really sweet girls. The next house was Alfa Chi. OMG I love this house. It had a backyard, a sun deck, amazing study room, and the events they told me about sounded so fun! They were my favorite today.
After Alfa Chi, I went to Sigma Kappa. They were the classy house and very pretty, close to the stadium and lots of parking. I got some duds to talk to though unfortunately. I did still put them in my preferences because I know I had some awesome conversations with other girls the first time around.
So now I wait for tomorrow when, hopefully, I get invited back to all three to find out about philanthropies and duties as a sorority sister.
Can't wait.
Alright everyone.
Love you all, Good night!
